COVID19: JNVs directed to offer unoccupied hostels to District Administrations.

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti again proves to be a system of social support and a depository of concerned citizens.

HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal asks Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas to make unoccupied hostels available to district admins to be used as any kind of medical facility aiding them to fight against coronavirus in view of the coronavirus or COVID-19 outbreak.

"Assessing the current situation, I have advised Commissioner , Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti to make their hostels (where no students are staying) available for the respective District Administrations, aiding them to fight COVID-19," Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal said on Monday, 23 March 2020.

Sources have also reported that this idea was first discussed in the All India JNV Alumini Association (AIIJA) facebook group.
